Today’s devotion explores what it means to be holy. Holiness is a term we primarily ascribe to God, though sometimes secondarily to man. The word itself is derived from a greek word that means “to be separate.” Put simply, the holiness of God means that God is separated from sin, incapable of sin, and in pursuit of His honor and His honor alone. God’s holiness is the reason we may ascribe worship to Him and Him alone; to worship anything else is to perform idolatry.
So, the practical question of the week is: what do you think of when you think of God’s holiness? How might trying to constantly view God as holy change our view of circumstances?
