Today’s devotion will be discussing the Power of God. We have been moving through the definition of God according to the Westminster Shorter Catechism. God, by His very nature, is power. When we observe a hurricane, a flower growing, a bear or a puppy, we are observing the power of God applied to earth. His power causes the grass to grow, allows us to breathe, and sustains our lives. This power is infinite, in that there is nothing God cannot do, except contradict himself or sin. This power is eternal, in that no one will ever be capable of dethroning God. Additionally, God’s power is unchangeable, so God will never be better at being God than He is right now.
The application question we ask this week in the blog is: how often do you consider the power of God sustaining you perfectly? How would a constant meditation of that truth influence our day to day lives?
